The Santo Doming Church is formally known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of La Naval de Manila and Saint Martín de Porres: Parish of St Dominic de Guzman, and is primarily dedicated to the image of Our Lady of the Rosary, in commemoration when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to San Domingo Félix de Guzmán (1170-1221) in 1214, and presented the Rosary as a tool in his mission to convert the heretical Cathars. These three panels are the last three Glorious Mysteries of the original fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.
